Zion Christian Church



Deriving from our beliefs the objects for which Zion Christian Church was established are:

  1. To organise the denomination in the name of the Church for the spreading of the Word of God and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth
  2. To proclaim and baptise and heal humanity on earth
  3. To prepare people for a rapidly changing world to enable them to improve their spiritual and their socio-economic situation by effectively utilizing resources within their reach
  4. To evangelise to the poor, the most abandoned and to those for whom the Church has not yet been able to provide sufficient means of salvation
  5. To bring to perfection and transform all human values so as to unite all persons and/or things in Christ
  6. To lead people in radical choice regarding their life, a decision for Christ, and draw them firmly and gently to continuing and total conversion
  7. To carry out its mission with bold initiative and wholehearted dedication
  8. To be subject to the Bishop/Senior Elder and also to the local leadership to what relates to their particular ministry in the Church; to confidently engage in missionary dialogue with the world
  9. To do all in our power to harmonize our own work with the enterprises of the Universal and the Church
  10. To raise funds by subscription from members of the Church and/or collection of voluntary subscriptions from members of the public
  11. To invest and/or deal with the funds of the Church upon such securities and in such a manner as the Bishop shall deem conducive to the attainment of its objectives
  12. To initiate programmes and/or activities and/or establish such bodies, organizations, institutions, companies, co-operatives, societies or associations as are appropriate to the control, management, programmes or activities of the Church and are consistent with the aims of the objectives of the Church as the Bishop may deem necessary.
  13. To provide and receive gifts for prayers or religious ceremonies for the benefit of those who believe and trust in God the Father, God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit.
  14. To recruit more members into the Church by prayers and works; and to do all or any other things as may be incidental to or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the aforesaid.
