Delivering his 2021 Easter message on online platforms from Mbungo Estates in Masvingo, Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi reminded his followers about the church’s mission of taking Zion to the world.
“Zion Christian Church is neither a stationery object nor a monument, but it is a movement, that is the reason why our slogan is Famba Zion,” he said.
Quoting Mathew 28 verses 18 and 19 the Man of God encouraged ZCC members to prioritise the converting of people to Christ.
“Go yee therefore and baptise people in the name of our Lord, The Father, who founded Zion, Jesus Christ who founded Christianity and the Holy Spirit which brings fellowship and togetherness – that is the Church at large,” he said.
Bishop Mutendi said church leaders, prophets and all members are expected to take Zion to new heights.
“Some ZCC cells or tabernacles are not growing. Some of these structural units were established more than five years ago with a small membership but up to now little has changed, with attendance so small that members still worship in a classroom,” he said.
Citing 1 Chronicles 4 verse 10, he added that church members should emulate Jabez who prayed for the expansion of his territory.
“With Christ’s resurrection power bestowed upon us, let us grow spiritually and enlarge God’s territories,” he said.
Bishop Mutendi encouraged youth in the church to spearhead Rev. Samuel Mutendi’ s vision and mission of taking Zion to the world by using social media platforms to introduce the idea of Zion.
