Zion is God’s dwelling place: Bishop Mutendi

Takudzwa Masiko

In his 234th online sermon since COVID-19 was declared in Zimbabwe, Bishop Mutendi told listeners that Zion is God’s permanent residence.

He said this while reading Psalms 132:13, which says, “For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place.”

The Man of God spoke highly of God’s residence saying the Lord of Zion resides in Mount Zion.

He highlighted that in the past God used to stay at different places, saying Moses met God in Mount Sinai, and at one time he was seen in thunder and smoke besides the hill.

“When King Saul took God’s Ark from the Philistines, he kept it at Mount Zion, the city of David.

From the period of David’s reign up to now, Mount Zion is God’s permanent residence,” he continued.

He added that the Zion Christian Church is God’s workshop, which he founded for the poor, sick, oppressed and those who experience misfortune to find refuge in, as read in Isaiah 14:32.

The Man of God called upon people from different cultures, languages, ethnic groups, tribes and nations to come to Zion, the mountain of the Lord, the house of God of Jacob, for them to receive baptism of repentance, salvation and blessings, as read in Isaiah 2:3 and Psalms 128:5.

Reading Jeremiah 3:14, which says, “I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion,” Bishop Mutendi said it is God himself calling people to Zion.

In conclusion, leaders in the church were implored to focus on converting new souls to Christ, especially at this time when most are in panic because of the pandemic.
